Description/Duties :
Bates College seeks applications and nominations for the Associate Director for Employer and Alumni Relations for the Bates Career Development Center.

The Associate Director will provide strategic vision, leadership, and creative implementation for the employer relations program and the job placement opportunities of the Career Center. Working closely with all College constituencies, including primarily faculty, alumni, and student leader, the Associate Director will establish a highly respected program of direct connections and network opportunities for jobs, internships, externships, summer employment, research, and global job opportunities for Bates students. The Associate Director will be a known leader among the Bates community for strong outreach to all profit and non-profit employment areas of key interest to Bates students and to recent alumni. The Associate Director, in tandem with Bates faculty and colleagues in career development, admission, alumni/advancement and multicultural programs, will work to elevate the reputation and quality of all career development advising, programming, outreach, graduate school options and job placement activities. The Associate Director, working closely with the Director, will be expected to be actively engaged
with a variety of external audiences including corporations, venture capital firms, research and development firms, green technology, the arts, education, and global initiatives on behalf of opportunities for Bates students and recent alumni to secure meaningful professional

Required Skills :
 Position Requirements: This professional position requires a bachelorís degree, with a masterís degree in counseling, higher education or a related field strongly preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required, preferably in a highly selective liberal arts college environment or in a related area assisting talented students in career advising, graduate school admission and advising, or job placement. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills are required, together with a desire to carry a high level leadership role in shaping the re-build of an entire career development service for capable, bright students who seek national and global opportunities for employment and service.
