IABA’s Mentoring Program links college students and professionals with seasoned actuaries who are able to share career advice from their personal experiences. Role and responsibilities are defined both for the mentoree and the mentor.

MENTOREE

A mentoree’s responsibilities include seeking a broader understanding about the actuarial profession, being proactive and utilizing their resources. As they seek to gain information about the profession they should focus on three key issues:

  1. Areas of practice in the actuarial field
  2. Examination process
  3. General day-to-day work activities

IABA is strongly committed to their mentoring program. We encourage members to become active participants so that we may all benefit. For more detail information of mentor/mentoree roles please click here.

Please contact our mentoring committee at iabamentorcommittee@blackactuaries.org if you would like to become a mentoree or mentor.

Note: Please, do not contact us regarding these mentor programs. We are not affiliated with the sponsoring organizations and therefore have no additional information. Sometimes the link is changed for the mentor programs. When this happens, go to the home page of the organizers to locate information on it or contact the organization directly.
