The Organization of Chinese Americans Political Internship Program seeks to

cultivate future leadership by providing opportunities for young Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) to participate in the political process. This is a great opportunity to learn firsthand about issues and policy that affects Asian Pacific Americans. The Organization of Chinese Americans Internship Program also exposes interns to other aspects of Washington DC.

Last year, intern visits included Congressional offices, where interns met with Representatives, APA staffers, and members of the Congressional APA Caucus. They also met with members of the Department of Justice and discussed issues concerning civil rights and voting rights. Interns will have a lot of hands on experience at the offices in which they are placed.

The OCA internships are a great way for student leaders to learn about OCA, current issues facing Asian Pacific Americans, and while experiencing the day to day activities of internet company.

The main placements are:

  1. The OCA National Office (Summer, Fall, Winter & Spring)
  2. Capitol Hill (Summer only)
  3. Federal Agencies (Summer only)

If you are a student in the Los Angeles area we have Volounteer/Internship opportunities located downtown. Please contact Clara Chiu at (213) 250-9888 for further details.

In Washington DC, the interns will all participate in weekly Brown Bag lunches and CAPAL programs. They will also have the opportunity to meet various prominent figures.
