The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, headquartered at Beechwood
Farms Nature Reserve, is seeking enthusiastic, energetic individuals
with a love for the outdoors who can assist us in fulfilling our

to educate and inspire the people of southwestern Pennsylvania to become
respectful and responsible stewards of the natural world.
ASWP Interns assist the education staff with environmental education
program leadership and development, participate in special ASWP events
and functions, and complete an approved independent project

Requirements: BS/BA in environmental education, elementary/secondary
education, biology, environmental science or related fields OR enrolled
in an accredited college or university with course work pursuant to a
degree in the above fields; interest in nature, natural history and the
outdoors; strong verbal and written communications skills; experience or
interest in environmental education program development and
facilitation; demonstrated teaching experience a plus; child
abuse/criminal record clearances; First Aid/CPR certification helpful.
Location(s): southwestern Pennsylvania
Program Dates and Duration: 150-hour internship ~ September through December
Stipend: $200 stipend* + college credit (where applicable)
*Stipends are available on a competitive basis, pending completion of
internship. Program is non-residential. Interns must provide own
transportation.
