The FCA is a dynamic organization dedicated to the promotion of

contemporary art within Ghana, West Africa and Africa as a whole. The organisation provides an information resource for artists, regularly holds workshops and exhibitions, and provides a space for artists, curators and academics to share ideas on the future for African art. The organisation is based in Accra, within offices very close to the city centre.

It has very close links to the international diplomatic community with Ambassadors and High Commissioners on its board, the University of Accra and to international art associations.

The FCA currently have a need for an Event Organiser/Office Administrator/Fund raiser. The role requires a minimum of 5 hours a day (suggested 10-3pm), 5 days a week. You will work alongside the current part time secretary and other artists and volunteers, of which there will typically be at least 3-4 also at the office. The role will be to provide administrative support, contribute to stakeholder relationship management, and provide creative input to the organisation of events. You will be required to attend one weekly general meeting, usually on Wednesday afternoons from 4 pm till 6 pm. Additionally, you will be required to frequent galleries and cultural organisations in Accra, to attend occasional evening events, and represent FCA with other volunteers of the foundation. This will be a wonderful way to learn about the city and meet people.
