In These Times is dedicated to informing and analyzing popular movements for social, environmental and economic justice; to providing a forum for discussing the politics that shape our lives; and to producing a magazine that is read by the broadest and most diverse audience possible. Two types of internships are available.
Editorial Internships: If you have a strong interest in progressive politics and independent publishing, and can work at least two days a week in our Chicago office, why not volunteer at In These Times? Depending on experience, our interns factcheck, proofread, research articles and help update the Web site. Applicants should send a cover letter and résumé to Phoebe Connelly. firstname.lastname@example.org
Publishing Internships: Looking for a way to get involved with publishing while sticking to your ideals? Come work at In These Times, a 29-year-old progressive magazine with a tradition of covering the best of the left. In These Times is currently looking for publishing interns to work on marketing, publicity and fundraising. Interns will work on press releases, media relations, event coordination, and donor and grant research. Interns should have high-quality writing and research skills, attention to detail and knowledge of basic office software. Familiarity with FileMaker Pro a plus. Internships are 2-3 days a week for three to four months. Applicants should e-mail a cover letter and resume to Anna Schneider. email@example.com
